Test of nursing competency for non-EU graduates
91̽»¨ has been commissioned by the National Board of Health and Welfare to be nationally responsible for and carry out knowledge tests for nurses trained outside the EU / EEA. On this page you can read more about the procedure, how to prepare and how to register for a test.
Information for applicants with international qualifications
Licenced nurses who have a nursing education from a country outside the EU / EEA and who have received a decision from Socialstyrelsen ( the National Board of Health and Welfare ) that they are eligible to take the test are welcome to apply to take the test. To get a decision from Socialistyrelsen you need to have your qualifications assessed.

How does the competency test work?
The test consists of two partial tests, one written and one practical, to provide a basis for assessment of both theoretical and practical knowledge. The written test must be approved before you can register for the practical test.
