Podd: Remaking of Knowledge
The Remaking of Knowledge är en poddserie om framtiden för etnografiska museisamlingar. Alla avsnitt är på engelska.
Den 19 september 2023 hölls ett välbesökt panelsamtal om koloniala kulturarv i västerländska museisamlingar på Världskulturmuseet i Göteborg. Samtalet kopplade perspektiv från Australiens urinvånare med digital teknik och museiarbete.
Samtalen leddes av Anna Bohlin och panelen lyfte tre projekt och samlade sex internationella talare: Christine Hansen, Mandy Quadrio, Tiffany Shellam, Shona Coyne, Susannah Montgomery och Adriana Muñoz.
Nu släpps panelsamtalet och den öppna frågestunder efter som poddserien Remaking of Knowledge.

Etnografiska museer över hela Europa är fulla av föremål med svår historia som samtida kuratorer ofta kämpar för att navigera i. Genom en fallstudie av ett australiskt halsband av snäckskal som finns i samlingarna på Etnografiska museet i Stockholm, Sverige, diskuteras möjligheten att återskapa och omforma samlingar i relation till miljödata, traditionell kunskap och social historia.
I detta avsnitt presenterar Christine Hansen och Mandy Quadrio sin forskning och Mandys konstnärligaverksamhet.
Dr Christine Hansen holds a PhD in history from the Australian National University and has worked as a curator in Australia and Sweden. She held a post-doctoral position in critical heritage studies at the Centre for Critical Heritage Studies (CCHS) at the University 91̽»¨ and has been affiliated to the centre for several years. She is now the principal investigator of the project Objects of Culture and 91̽»¨, based at the Department of Historical Studies, University 91̽»¨.
Dr Mandy Quadrio is a Trawlwoolway / Pairrebeenner woman connected to her clan Country of Tebrakunna, Cape Portland, far north-east coast of Trouwunna / Loetrouwitter / Tasmania, and the Laremairremener clan Country of Little Swanport, Oyster Bay Nation of eastern Trouwunna / Tasmania. She is also of Anglo-Irish heritage. Currently based in Meanjin / Brisbane, her artistic practice encompasses sculpture, installation, photography and mixed media. Through her practice Quadrio works to unfix racist categorisations, historic denials and imposed invisibility in relation to Aboriginal identity.

Entangled Knowledges-projektet syftar till att lyfta fram Menang Nyungar-kunskap kopplat till en historisk samling av fiskar, däggdjur och artefakter som finns på National Museums Scotland och en samling skisser av fiskar som innehas av Natural History Museum, London. Det här avsnittet utforskar hur "working in a cross-sector, collaborative and Indigenous-governed team"kan berika och omforma förståelsen av samlingar i museer.

Ass Professor Tiffany Shellam, historian, Deakin University, Australia, who works collaboratively with the Nyungar community of Western Australian, historians, museum curators, and archivists to unearth hidden and alternative histories of 19th century encounters.
Shona Coyne is a Menang/Nyungar woman with cultural connections to Yamatji Country in Western Australia and the Scottish Highlands. She is also Head of the First Nations Collections and Community Engagement team at the National Museum of Australia.
