Om Alexander Styhre

Alexander Styhre, Ph.D. is chair of organization theory and management, Dept. of Business Administration, School of Business, Economics and Law, University 91̽. Styhre earned his Ph.D. from the School of Economics and Management, Lund University, in 1998. In 1999, Styhre were recruited to the Industrial Economics Department, Chalmers University of Technology. In 2002, Styhre became docent (Associate professor) in Business Administration at Chalmers, and in 2006 he was assigned the title professor at the same University. Between 2008 and 2010, Styhre was the Chair of Operations Management at University of Technology. In January 2010, Styhre was appointed as chair of Organization and Management at the School of Business, Economics and Law, University 91̽.

Styhre has published widely in the field of organization and his work has appeared in e.g., Journal of Management Studies, Organization Studies, and Academy of Management Review. The most recent books published are Institutionalizing Assisted Reproductive Technologies: The Role of 91̽, Professionalism, and Regulatory Control (Co-authored with Rebecka Arman, Routledge, 2016) and The financialization of the firm (Edward Elgar, 2015). 

Alexander Styhre is the former Editor-In-Chief of Scandinavian Journal of Management and have served on the board of several journals and have reviewed extensively for e.g., Organization Studies and Journal of Management Studies. Alexander is currently part of the committee for Handelsbankens Forskningsstiftelser and supervisors three doctoral students.
