I am a PhD-student at the department of Education and Special Education. My research interests revolve around equity, competence and agency in relation to Special Needs Education and Inclusive Education in Upper Secondary School. My thesis focuses on how the ’capable' and 'competent’ student is constructed - in policy as well as concrete school practice and what consequences such constructions have for students in need of special support and additional adjustments. I am conducting a qualitative, ethnographic study using ethico-philosophical perspectives on power, knowledge and justice.
Currently (2024/2025), I serve as secretary for the Doctoral Council at the Faculty of Education. I teach at the Vocational Teacher Education Programme and the Special Educational Teacher Program.
My supervisors are Mikael Ring and Girma Berhanu.
