About Christina Lindqvist

I am a professor of French linguistics and language learning. I got my PhD in French at Stockholm university in 2006 and became an associate professor in Romance languages at Uppsala university in 2013. I have been working at the University 91̽»¨ since 2015.

My main research interest is second language learning: vocabulary acquisition, different aspects of vocabulary knowledge among Swedish learners of French as a second or third language, transfer/cross-linguistic influence, third language acquisition and multilingualism. I have mainly examined these aspects in French learner language, but also in learners of Italian, Spanish, Dutch and Swedish.

I am responsible for the research area Language learning and teaching at the department.

I am currently main supervisor for a PhD student in humanities specializing in educational sciences within the doctoral school CUL, and co-supervisor for a PhD student in multilingualism at the Department of Swedish, Multilingualism and Language Technology. I have led two PhD theses to completion as main supervisor, one in French literature and one in English specializing in language learning and teaching.

I also supervise bachelor's and master's theses, as well as degree projects within the language teacher education program.

I primarily teach courses within the language teacher education program and at advanced level.
