Present employment

Since 2001 parttime employed as speech-language pathologist at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. Graduated as a speech-language pathologist in 1998. In 2011, I presented my thesis "The challenge of communication during home mechanical ventilation". Currently working as a researcher at the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology, Department of Clinical Neuroscience and Rehabilitation, Division of Speech and Language Pathology at Sahlgrenska Academy, University 91Ě˝»¨.

Teaching interests

Lectures on speech pathology for ventilator-dependent adults. Supervises master’s theses.

Research interests

Research is being focused on the long-term project ITA – Measures of speech Intelligibility, Timing and Articulation in individuals with speech disorders.

Other research interests include:

  • Subtle language disorder, including the development of a testbattery for subtle language disordes (Laakso 2000) which has been used in fMRI studies (van Ettinger-Veenstra et al, Right-hemispheric brain activation correlates to language performance, Neuroimage, 49(4): 3481-3488).
  • Communication during mechanical ventilation,
  • Pedagogical issues. Collaboration with Ingrid Behrns, Ă…sa Abelin () och Mattias von Feilitzen () with a project entitled "Guidelines for integrity and ethics in the use of patient recordings for interactive learning".
