He is an international law researcher of global repute, and his most outstanding achievement is the early establishment of a perspective on international law that enabled the voice of the Global South.

Professor Chimni is one of the main initiators of鈥疶hird World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL),鈥痑n approach that has left its mark on the global discourse on international law since the early 1990s.

He has inspired a generation of migration law researchers around the world with his groundbreaking texts.
