Welcome to a spring exhibition with the first year students from the bachelor's programme in fine art!

The creation of art is, in many cases, the act of imbuing objects with ideas and traits, to project worldly preconceptions, everyday reflections and thoughts of the universe onto something physical; to give shape that is available for something that is larger than the self, and the self as friend to the art. The process of creating can parallel a fixation, an obsession. This could be a fixation on existence, on memory, on magic, on seduction. It could be theatrical, twisted, a mirror with unpolished, sharp edges. This exhibition presents seventeen first year students who all want to show you something personal, maybe with the intention for it to be just that, or an opportunity for you to find yourself within the piece. We invite you to indulge in electromagnetic waves, market logic, city walks, coincidences, bedrock, protective laws, unanswered questions, monstrosities.
