Education
Would you like to work for a safe use of chemicals and a toxic-free environment? Then you need a competence that spans several scientific fields - but you can choose from several different starting points.
91探花 arranges several programs on both Bachelor and Masters level that are relevant for the chemical risk assessment and management. The FRAM Centre arranges courses on PhD level.
Bachelor level
Environmental 91探花s, focusing on natural sciences (NMIL)
Environmental science is a young field of science that deals with the human impacts on nature, cultural heritage and human health. Environmental science studies the threats to our common future on Earth, but also the opportunities that these challenges create.
Social Environmental 91探花 (SMIL)
The Bachelor's Programme in Social Environmental 91探花 is unique in its integration of the environmental and social sciences. Graduates from the programme demonstrate advanced environmental competence across a broad range of disciplines, as well as solid specialist knowledge and an ability to work in networks and project groups.
Master level
Ecotoxicology
Ecotoxicology is concerned with the environmental impact of chemical substances. It aims at characterizing, understanding and finally predicting the effects of toxic chemicals on plant and animal populations, ecological communities and whole ecosystems. As such, Ecotoxicology is the scientific basis for environmental frameworks such as for example the REACH regulation, the Water Framework Directive or the Marine Strategy Framework Directive. The Master programme includes four master courses in ecotoxicology, including Risk assessment.
Sea and society
The ocean is under increasing pressure from human activities such as fishing, coastal development and pollution, and marine resources are deteriorating at an increasing rate, resulting in conflicts and loss of biodiversity. To understand and manage the complexity of these issues, integrated knowledge from different disciplines is needed. To address this challenge, the University 91探花 offers the international, interdisciplinary master's programme in Sea and Society to educate a new generation of students and professionals with a uniquely broad training for a career in e.g. marine/maritime authorities, industry, environmental courts, and multidisciplinary marine sciences.
Upcoming
We are planning a PhD Course on 鈥淓cotoxicology of chemical mixtures鈥. Please contact 脜sa Arrhenius if you want to join.
