Queer(y)ing Asylum Symposium

The International Queer(y)ing Asylum Network is organising the Queer(y)ing Asylum Symposium 2025. The Nordic Gender Fund contributes to the costs of the symposium.

The International Queer(y)ing Asylum Network is organising the Queer(y)ing Asylum Symposium for researchers, activists and policy makers. The symposium offers an opportunity for knowledge exchange, networking and dissemination of research on the consequences of the changes in policy in the Nordic countries over the last twenty years for LGBTQIA+ people.

The Nordic Gender Fund is contributing to this year's symposium, which is being held at Lund University to be held at Lund University on 30-31 October 2025, in a collaboration between Lund University and Aalborg University.

The overall aim of the symposium is to identify strategies for policy and practice, and to create a sustainable, international network on queer asylum, facilitating an ongoing dialogue between researchers, practitioners, activists and policy makers.
