Short description

The main aim with the CLISS project is to investigate how students develop their written, academic language proficiency in English and Swedish during their three years in upper secondary school. Two groups of students are involved in the study 鈥� those who use Swedish as the main language of instruction and those who use English.

About the Project

Content and Language Integrated Learning 鈥� CLIL 鈥� is quite widespread within the Swedish educational system, especially at secondary level. Thus far, research into this learning context in Sweden has not been particularly extensive. In the CLISS (Content and Language Integration in Swedish Schools) project, researchers from two universities in the areas of linguistics, education and ethnography work together in order to investigate CLIL from a number of perspectives.
