Management, sustainability, diversity and consumption - four themes permeate GRI's research.

Management

Scandinavian Management is characterised by a focus on processes, learning and close cooperation between managers and employees. Ongoing projects include, for example:

  • Bank Management and risk management in banks
  • Governance and interorganisational collaboration
  • Employee engagement, creativity and innovation

Sustainability

20 years ago we started pioneering research in green management and today we study sustainability from several perspectives, including: 

  • Waste management in cities
  • Risk communication by public authorities
  • Sustainable food consumption 
  • Sustainable tourism / Sustainable tourism

Diversity


In the area of diversity, we study issues related to gender, ethnicity and age. Examples of various ongoing studies are:

  • Integration of newcomers

Consumption

Since 2001, multidisciplinary research on consumption has been conducted at the Centre for Consumption Research (CFK) at GRI. The researchers at CFK examine, among other things:

  • How digital technologies such as smartphones affect consumers
  • Logistics and consumption patterns
  • Consumers' views on food alarms and risk
