Tjärnö Marine Laboratory is located by Sweden's most species-rich marine area in the northern part of Bohuslän province, next to Kosterhavet National Park. Here you find ships, field equipment, diving facilities, laboratories, sea water system, lecture halls, accommodation, dining hall, as well as skilled and helpful staff.

The Tjärnö Laboratory provides university education and research in marine sciences, especially evolution, aquaculture and nature conservation and management. A total of about 70 people are employed year-round. School classes and other members of the public are also welcome to visit the Tjärnö Laboratory. There are good conference facilities for groups.
