Agnes Cornell is an Associate Professor at the Department of Political 91Ě˝»¨, University 91Ě˝»¨.
Cornell’s research lies at the intersection of public administration and comparative politics. She studies the relationship between state bureaucracy and democracy, political institutions, and citizens’ interactions with the state in historical as well as contemporary settings. Cornell’s research also examines foreign aid and processes of democratization.
Cornell’s research has been published or is forthcoming in journals such as Journal of Politics, Comparative Political Studies, Governance, European Journal of Political Research, Public Administration, Journal of Democracy, and Democratization.
Cornell has together with Jørgen Møller and Svend-Erik Skaaning written the monography Democratic Stability in an Age of Crisis: Reassessing the Interwar period (2020, Oxford University Press)
Cornell is Director of Studies for the international master’s programme International Administration and Global Governance (IAGG).
