About Lena Gipperth

Research interests are within the fields of Environmental law, primarily related to Marine governance, Water management and Biodiversity, by relating to legal implementation of environmental quality objectives, e.g. by environmental quality standards. Between 2015-2021 I was appointed as Director for the Center of Sea and Society at the University 91̽»¨, a cross-faculty center supporting marine/maritime research and education. I am still active in the center and part of its management group.

I have been involved in numbers of multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary research projects e.g.:

  • MISTRA BioPath Pathways for an efficient alignment of the Financial System, 2022-2026 ()
  • FRAM Centre for Future Chemical Risk Assessment and Management Strategies, 2015- (/fram-kemiska-riskanalyser-styrning)
  • ZORRO (Zostera Restoration program) including several project about restoration of coastal habitats with focus on eelgrass, 2012 - (/forskning/zorro)
  • CHANGE Changing antifouling practices for leisure boats in the Baltic Sea, 2012-2018
  • SPEQS - A Systems Perspective on Environmental Quality Standards, 2012-2015
  • TBT Impact 2005- 2009
  • COPE Coping with Climate Change: SwedenÂ’s Climate Strategy as a Case in Point, 2001-2005
  • SUCOZOMA Sustainable Coastal Zone Management, 2000-2004
