About Martin Grill

Martin Grill, PhD, associate professor in psychology, and licensed psychologist, leads research projects focused on developing and evaluating methods for how Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and operant learning theory can be used in leadership training. Randomized controlled trials in naturalistic settings form the core of these projects but they also include longitudinal analyses of how managerial leadership predicts the leadership of their subordinate supervisors and the motivation, productivity, behaviors, and safety of their employees. The research projects Martin leads are funded by FORTE, AFA Försäkring, and MSB, with data coming from the construction industry, local government organizations, and critical societal organizations. Martin teaches CBT, leadership, and quantitative research method, and supervises PhD students in work and organizational psychology.

Martin is also a member of the research group Psychology of Organization and Work (POW) and participates as a researcher in other research projects including, Building Health: An intervention study for improved working environments in smaller companies in entrepreneurial chains in large construction projects and Employee-driven organizational change in healthcare assisted by focusteams.
