Areas of interest

Latin America, Indigenous studies, cosmology/ontology, ritual practice, religion, climate change, environmental anthropology, sustainability, social integration, etc.

I have completed one previous research project funded by the Swedish Research Council (Indigenous Peoples and Climate Change: Epistemological Conflicts in Latin America). Regionally my research focus is located among Maya people in Guatemala and Belize.

Current research

Negotiating the Middle Ground: Indigenous Cosmopolitical Brokerage in Latin America

This is a four-year long (2020-2014) anthropological research project funded by the Swedish Research Council conducted in collaboration with two colleagues at the School of Global Studies. 

Teaching experience

I have through the years been course coordinator and lecturer in several courses at the School of Global Studies (Global Studies, Latin American Studies, Social Anthropology, Human Ecology, etc.) as well as tutoring students on bachelor levels.

Field experience

Starting in 2004, divided in several trips, I have conducted field research in Guatemala and Belize for a total amount of time around 17 months.
