Come and sing - together!
Short description
In my quest to develop as an educator and artist, there is a desire to create something new.
I have now completed my second book, Come and Sing - Together! (due for publication in 2026), in which I have composed 22 songs for various ensembles and choirs. I have researched and explored different musical ideas and concepts, translated lyrics and written my own. I have experimented with different styles and structures of text, melody, harmony and rhythm. The aim was to create material that could be used by both beginners and professional singers. My ambition has been to create songs that can inspire, challenge and entertain.

The book Come and Sing! was published in 2021 with the idea of creating a wide range of pedagogical material aimed at educators - people who work with singing in various ways. The book was conceived as a resource that could be used when working with children, adults, amateurs or professionals. One of the basic ideas was to see singing as just singing, regardless of genre, and to encourage singing in many different forms. It was also intended that the songs could be used as quick warm-ups, as a way of transitioning into different musical genres, and, when working with several singers, as gathering or sing-along songs. Another aim was to work with singing from a more physical perspective - where voice and movement form a whole - and where movement can both create a more fluid phonation and be an excellent distraction when needed.
In my second book I have continued to challenge myself with new genres and styles, but now I have created more extensive songs. The choral pieces in the book are for mixed choir, treble choir and men's choir and range in difficulty from very simple to more complex songs. The texts are in English, Scottish, French, German, Latin, Greek, Hebrew and Swedish and include love songs, peace songs, songs of hope, faith and friendship, Christmas carols, sacred texts, nursery rhymes and a drinking song. The musical material is varied, ranging from up-tempo songs to quiet songs and hymns. The aim has been to create exciting and enjoyable artistic material. The work has been artistic in its creative process but has also had a clear educational focus.
