PhD Program in Environmental Economics

Prospective PhD students interested in environmental economics can apply through the department's general PhD program, while those with a broader science background may consider the EEU鈥檚 PhD program in Environmental 91探花 and Management, which requires external funding.

Anyone interested in pursuing a PhD in Economics with a specialization in environmental economics should apply through the department's general PhD program.

The EEU also offers a smaller PhD program in Environmental 91探花 and Management, with entry requirements differing from those of the Economics program. Candidates can have a general science background instead of a master鈥檚 in economics and can combine courses in economics with environmental science. Currently, there is no dedicated funding for this program, and new students are only admitted if they have their own funding

Between 1995 and 2023, the EEU offered a Sida-funded PhD specialization in Economics, focusing on climate and environment, particularly in developing countries. With Sida funding no longer available, admissions have stopped.
