Public economics
Public economics is in short economics of the public sector - taxation and expenditure in terms of various kinds of public services.
Most of the public economics research conducted at our department deals with taxation in one aspect or another, often with influences from behavioral economics.
There is research on optimal taxation where different kinds of social preferences are taken into account and research on tax evasion where the importance of social norms is investigated to mention a couple of fields.
