Roger Olofsson Bagge is a Professor in Cancer Surgery at the Institute of Clinical 91Ě˝»¨s at Sahlgrenska Academy. He is also a Senior consultant surgeonat the Sahlgrenska University Hospital.

He has a research group including both clinical and pre-clinical research within Wallenberg Centre of Molecular and Translational Medicine where the focus is translational cancer research, mainly concerning malignant melanoma and breast cancer.

Examples of ongoing projects

  1. ExoBioMark - Translational biomarker study including patients with breast cancer and melanoma
  2. SCANDIUM - A phase III randomized controlled trial evaluating isolated hepatic perfusion (IHP) vs. Best alternative care (BAC) (NCT01785316).
  3. SCANDIUM II - A phase I randomized controlled trial evaluating isolated hepatic perfusion (IHP) and immunotherapy using ipilimumab and nivolumab.
  4. MI-ILP - Minimally-invasive isolated limb perfusion (NCT03376126).
  5. Nivo-ILP - Double blind randomized controlled phase Ib/II trial evaluating the effect of adding nivolumab to isolated limb perfusion (NCT03685890).
  6. SUMMIST - Randomized controlled phase II trial evaluating the effect of metastasectomies in patients with stable disease or partial response after treatment with PD-1 inhibition (NCT04242329).
  7. MAGMEN - Identification and prediction of sentinel node status in melanoma using supraparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles and MRI (NCT03898687).
